Bogdan Cristian Chiripuci is Assistant Professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and has been the Agriculture Policies and Programs Manager for the Romanian Farmers’ Club team since the beginning of 2021. Currently, Bogdan combines his passion for research with implementing programs and projects that benefit Romanian farmers, based on identified needs, thus aiming to maintain and enhance the competitiveness of Romanian farms.
Marius Constantin is Assistant Professor in the Department of Agri-food and Environmental Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. His research primarily focuses on agricultural economics, with a particular emphasis on competitiveness. He has participated in a best-practice sharing program at the University of Georgia, USA, focusing on the synergy among agri-environmental research, education, and extension—an initiative housed within the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences. Moreover, Marius Constantin has also been involved in various teaching and research missions at the Catholic University of Valencia “San Vicente Mártir”, University of Catania, and the Institute of Agricultural Economics in Belgrade. In recognition of his outstanding research activity, Marius Constantin has been honored with two awards at the Excellence Gala, an event organized by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
Elena-Mădălina Deaconu is a research assistant at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, specializing in agri-food and environmental economics. She brings a well-rounded blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to her work, which spans policy analysis, project management, and data-driven research. Actively involved in studies on agri-food trade balance and sustainable agriculture, Elena-Mădălina applies her expertise to address complex issues in these fields, enriching her research contributions with both theoretical insights and hands-on proficiency.
Raluca Ignat, Professor, PhD, and Director of Department of Agrofood and Environmental Economics, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She has a PhD degree in Economics since 2009, and in 2013 had the final dissertation of 28 months post-doctoral research in Environment and Quality of Life. In 2011 had a research sholarship al Univesity of Reading, Great Britain. She is author or co-author of books and books-chapters, as well as scientific papers published in different scintific journals. She was involved as team member or project manager in more than 28 research projects, all with public, national or European financing, and World Bank grants. Dr. Ignat main research area includes sustainable development, circular economy, rural economy, management and entrepreneurship in agrofood and agribusiness, resilience of entrepreneurship and business.
PhD Associate Professor Cătălin Octavian Mănescu graduated The National Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Bucharest, has a master’s degree in education, a doctorate in physical education and sport, specializations in sports management, leadership and sustainable development at the Berlin International Business Management Institute, he is a member of several national and international associations and societies, sole author of 7 books in the field of sports performance, member of the Editorial Board of Bodybuilding Journal of Science and Marathon Journal and, from 2020, Vice Dean of Faculty of Agrifood and Environmental Economics – Liaison with the social and business environment, cooperation with students.
Ina Nimerenco is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Economics II and a research assistant in the Department of Agrofood and Environmental Economics at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies. Throughout her academic journey, she has actively volunteered with various local and national NGOs. Notably, she served as President of the Romanian Student Union, where she represented students’ rights and coordinated significant national projects. Her primary research interests lie in education and sustainability, fields in which she is deeply passionate. Ina is also actively engaged in multiple institutional research projects, contributing to advancements in her areas of expertise.
Cristian Teodor: Ph.D (2011) and Post-doctorate (2015) at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, mobility University of Verona – research theme “Sustainable rural development” Bucharest University of Economic Studies – title “Compatibility of environmental policies in the Romanian agro-food sector with similar ones in the European Union”. Associate Professor since 2022. Major achievement: the research project “Study on The Evaluation of the Guarantee System, A Component of the Waste Management System in Romania”- the largest circular economy project in Romania (Returo). He was leader or researcher in 8 research projects, author of articles published in web of science and in international scientific data bases in economics and sustainability.
